Cummins is displaying its 2013 engine lineup, including its clean diesel ISX12 and ISL9 and Cummins Westport ISX12 G natural gas engine, at World of Concrete here in Las Vegas.

Cummins 2013 ISX12 and ISL9 on-highway diesel engines provide up to 2 percent better fuel economy than the 2012 model year engines by using XPI fuel system, VGT(TM) turbocharger, Cummins aftertreatment system with diesel particulate filter (DPF) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology driven by a single engine control module (ECM).

The Cummins ISX12 is rated from 310 horsepower to 425 horsepower and has more than 800 pound-feet of clutch engagement torque, SmartTorque ratings that deliver an additional 200 pound-feet of torque in the top two gears, vocational ratings that provide additional torque in the lower gears and options such as front- and rear-mounted power take-off (FEPTO and REPTO).

The Cummins ISL9 is rated from 260 horsepower to 380 horsepower and features replaceable wet liners, roller followers, by-pass oil filtration and targeted piston cooling.

Both diesel engines are certified to the 2013 U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations meeting the greenhouse gas (GHG) and fuel efficiency rules that take effect in 2014.

Cummins Westport natural gas engines, the ISL G and ISX12 G, feature Cummins Westport’s proprietary spark-ignited combustion technology with Stoichiometric cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation (SEGR) and a maintenance-free Three-Way Catalyst.

The Cummins Westport ISL G is rated from 250 horsepower to 320 horsepower and shares a full-skirted block with Cummins ISL9. The ISL G is certified to the 2013 EPA standards.

The Cummins Westport ISX12 G, which is based on Cummins ISX12 diesel, is rated from 320 horsepower to 400 horsepower and offers up to 1,450 pound-feet of torque. Options include engine braking and automatic and manual transmission. The ISX12 G will be available in limited production in April 2013. It will be EPA 2013 certified.

Both the ISX12 G and the ISL G operate on compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas or biomethane.
