2027 Ram 1500 Revealed: 13 Trims, 7 Engines Including 777-HP Hemi V8

The 2027 Ram 1500 half-ton pickup trucks have started hitting dealerships, offering buyers a dizzying array of options.

New for the model year is the Ram 1500 Rumble Bee muscle truck. But for most contractors and workers, the following trims will be of greater interest: Tradesman, Express/Black Express, Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, Warlock, BackCountry, Rebel, RHO, TRX SRT, Limited/Longhorn, and Tungsten.

Starting MSRPs range from $45,170 for the Tradesman up to $91,790 for the Tungsten.

You can also go for the TRX SRT, which Ram calls “the fastest and most powerful production V8 off-road pickup truck in the world.” Starting near $100,000, it gets an SRT badge for the first time. The Rumble Bee starts at just under $60,000.

Both TRX SRT and Rumble Bee get the 777-horsepower Hemi V8.

Hemi or Hurricane?

One of the big choices for a Ram 1500 shopper is: Hemi or Hurricane? 

The Hemi has the name recognition and the noise, but the Hurricane's specs are more impressive and economical.

Buyers can also choose the Pentastar V6 hybrid.

All of the engines are paired with eight-speed automatic transmissions. Here are the options:

• 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 eTorque hybrid — 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. Tows up to 8,100 pounds and payload of 2,340 pounds.
• 5.7-liter Hemi V8 — 395 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft. of torque. Tows up to 8,890 pounds and payload of 1,150 pounds.
• 5.7-liter Hemi V8 eTorque hybrid — 395 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft. of torque. Tows up to 11,370 pounds and payload of 1,680 pounds.
• 3.0-liter Hurricane SO Twin-Turbo I6 — 420 horsepower and 469 lb.-ft. of torque. Tows up to 11,530 pounds and payload of 1,880 pounds.
• 3.0-liter Hurricane High Output Twin-Turbo I6 — 540 horsepower and 521 lb.-ft. of torque. Tows up to 9,480 pounds and payload of 1,530 pounds.
• 6.4-liter Hemi V8 — 470 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque. Tows up to 7,460 pounds and payload of 1,160 pounds.
• 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 — 777 horsepower and 680 lb.-ft. of torque. Tows up to 8,580 pounds and payload of 1,140 pounds.
