Navistar promotes Jack Allen to COO

Updated Apr 23, 2013

NAVISTAR INTERNATIONAL CORP. LOGONavistar recently announced that it has named Jack Allen as its new executive vice president and Chief Operating Officer.

Allen will fill the role Troy Clarke vacated at the beginning of March when he took over as the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer.

Effective immediately, the move promotes Allen from his prior position as the company’s preside for North American truck and Parts. Allen had served in that role since June 2012.

“Jack is a results-focused leader with a deep understanding of the commercial truck industry and Navistar. He has successfully run nearly every important part of our business at one point during his 31-year career at the company,” said Navistar President and CEO Troy Clarke in a prepared statement.

Allen joined the company in 1981 as a design engineer and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and an MBA from the Illinois Institute of Technology.

During the Mid-America Truck Show last month, Allen said Navistar was “shifting momentum” thanks to the new Cummins-equipped ProStar+ trucks.
