LiuGong Expands Electric Lineup With New 7.5-Ton 820TE Compact Wheel Loader

LiuGong has brought another electric construction machine to North America. This time it’s the 820TE compact wheel loader.

It joins the China-based company’s 23-ton 856HE Electric Wheel Loader and 27-ton 924FE Electric Excavator, with more battery-powered models planned for launch here in 2027.

The 15,653-pound 820TE runs on a 70.5 kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery, and its drive motor achieves the equivalent of 67.1 horsepower.

It has a runtime of 8 to 10 hours, depending on use, and fast charging of 15% to 95% in 60 to 90 minutes, according to LiuGong.

The loader is equipped with an independently developed electric transmission that eliminates the traditional torque converter. This boosts efficiency, reduces noise, simplifies operation, lowers operating costs and delivers smoother power, the company says.

It can run a variety of attachments, including general-purpose buckets, pallet forks and grapples. LiuGong says it is ideal for urban construction, material handling, agriculture and indoor tasks where low noise and low emissions are needed. It can maneuver in confined spaces due to its compactness, tight turning radius and articulated steering.

The cab is pressurized for reduced noise. It comes with a full LCD display that provides real-time machine data. The loader’s standard arm has a dump height of 8 feet 7 inches. A high-lift arm is available with a dump height of 9 feet 3 inches.
