Yanmar’s 47.6-horsepower V7 compact wheel loader made its North American market debut late last year. Newly designed from the ground up, the 9,370-pound machine fills the gap in the manufacturer’s wheel loader line between the V4-7 and the V8 models.
Frank Gangi, Yanmar product manager for wheel loaders and attachments, gave Equipment World an overview of the V7 at this year’s ARA Show.

The lightweight loader features a 0.92-cubic-yard bucket capacity and a lifting capacity of 7,981 pound-force. Travel speed is 18.6 mph.
The new articulation and oscillation joint offers 40 degrees of articulation and 10 degrees of oscillation at the center of the wheel loader instead of the rear. Gangi says this design keeps the machine’s tires on the ground, maintains traction to all four tires and lowers the center of gravity.
Two steel-framed doors with floor-to-ceiling windows provide increased visibility. The comfortable cab also comes with heating and air conditioning, a high-backed seat with ergonomic armrests and mechanical suspension, and ergonomic joystick controls.
Other features designed to increase operator efficiency include Creep Mode for precise attachment control, Automatic Ride Control with limited slip differential and a hydraulic quick coupler. The “P-Kinetics,” or parallel kinetics feature, keeps the bucket and forks parallel to the ground no matter the load angle to reduce spillage.
