New Holland Construction continues the rollout of its D Series compact wheel loaders with three new models, designed to “perform more tasks with a single machine.”
The next-generation W70D, W80D and W80D Long Reach replace their C Series counterparts with completely redesigned cabs for increased comfort, visibility and production for novice to experienced operators, the company says.
The CWLs follow the company’s release of its first and largest D Series model last year, the 19,775-pound, 112-horsepower W100D.
All three new models run on 74-gross-horsepower FPT diesel engines with 227 foot-pounds of peak torque. The loaders range from 12,547 to 13,900 pounds of operating weight.
They are designed for construction, landscaping, material handling and agriculture uses, able to maneuver in confined spaces and reducing ground disturbance, the company says. They can run a variety of attachments, including snow blades, brooms and buckets. An integrated quick coupler enables attachment changes without leaving the cab.

Inside the Cab
New Holland ConstructionThe biggest difference from the C Series is in the cab, which features:
Adjustable, heated air-ride seat with integrated joystick controls mounted directly to it, so the controls move with the operator.
Multifunction joystick so operators don’t have to remove their hands from the controls.
Adjustable steering column and armrest.
Lower front console, larger front windshield and improved sightlines to the attachment and work area.
New LCD display mounted on the right-side A-pillar within the operator’s line of sight.
Rearview camera.
Right-side sliding window and door so operators can communicate with crew members.
Heater/defroster standard. Air conditioning is optional.
LED lighting package standard. A four-corner strobe kit is optional.
Backup alarm.
The loaders can be ordered without a cab as a ROPS platform.

New Holland added some advanced features to help operators improve productivity, no matter their experience level.
Electro-hydraulic controls can set boom and bucket response speeds slower for new operators as they gain confidence, and veteran operators can speed them up for faster cycle times.
Other standard productivity features to lessen the strain of repetitive tasks include ride control for smoother travel, cruise control, creep mode, return-to-dig, return-to-dump and return-to-travel.
The loaders “deliver smooth, precise operation through flow sharing and load-sensing capabilities that adjust hydraulic flow for increased efficiency and fuel savings,” the company says.
The CWLs come with seven years of telematics connectivity through myNewHollandConstruction.
