Case dozers get universal machine control compatibility as factory option
Case Construction Equipment will now install a universal machine control kit at the factory as an available option on its production class M-Series dozers.
The kit includes a harness for blade guidance systems, brackets and mounts, and universal jumpers. The kit works with systems from all major machine control suppliers including Topcon, Trimble and Leica Geosystems.
Beyond the convenience of receiving a machine control-ready dozer, Case notes that opting for the kit should improve the machine’s resale value as well.

Cat S61 brings HD thermal imaging, laser distance measuring to company’s FLIR-toting rugged phone
Cat has introduced an updated model of its excellent thermal imaging smartphone that boasts a better camera and a few new construction-centric features.
Like the previous generation S60, the new Cat S61’s standout feature is its integrated FLIR thermal imaging camera. With the S61 Cat has improved the image quality of the FLIR camera to now provide high definition detail, an extended temperature range all the way up to 752 degrees Fahrenheit (400 Celsius) and software improvements for better image contrast.

ASV’s new RT-40 Posi-Track is a mini monster CTL
At just 4 feet wide, ASV‘s new RT-40 isn’t the smallest machine in the company’s Posi-Track lineup of compact track loaders. That distinction belongs to the RT-30, which has the same width but weighs 500 pounds less (and has a ground pressure of only 3.0 psi). Positioned between the RT-30 and RT-60, ASV says the RT-40 is designed to be a more attractive alternative to walk-behind and stand-on mini skid-steer loaders, which are becoming more powerful with each passing year.
“The industry has never seen power like this in a machine the size of the RT-40. It’s a powerhouse,” Justin Rupar, ASV’s vice president of sales and marketing, said in a statement provided to Equipment World. “The machine features remarkable performance for its 4-foot width”
Aimed at rental, homeowners and contractors, ASV says the RT-40 offers ample power for smaller jobs in tight spaces and can handle things like snow removal and landscaping tasks with ease.

Deere adds integrated SmartGrade machine control to 950K with Power Angle Tilt blade
John Deere is now offering its 950K PAT model with fully integrated machine control from the factory.
Introduced last year, the 950K PAT features an 8.6-cubic yard Power Angle Tilt blade. The machine allows operators to place material with greater precision thanks to the cutting angles the six-way blade provides.
Deere says the PAT blade can “execute several tasks that might otherwise require multiple machines.” Using a hydraulic power-pitch option, the operator can control the PAT blade pitch from the cab. A return-to-pitch setting lets the operator preset blade-pitch positions, and activate them with a button push. The blade pitch is also adjustable using three mount locations on the blade.

Chevy teases 2020 Silverado HD with a bigger, meaner look
Having already unveiled the redesigned 2019 Silverado 1500 and an all-new medium-duty lineup in the 2019 Silverado 4500, 5500 and 6500HD trucks, Chevy is now teasing the third and final piece of its full truck lineup refresh with a sneak peek at the 2020 Silverado HD trucks.
In a wide-angle shot taken just in front of the nose of the yet-to-be-revealed pickup, we see a new grille design with the ‘CHEVROLET’ name stamped in full on the center crossbeam. The grille also looks to incorporate split level lighting, with what looks like an LED lamp on top and a larger lamp below the crossbeam.
