Firstgreen Industries says its Elise 1200 electric skid steer is designed for “extreme power, clean operation and minimum noise for the operator and environment.”
The company’s strongest skid steer has a 2,645-pound load capacity, a 5,291-pound tipping load and 144-inch hinge pin height. It can be operated using the joystick in the cab, via the Danfoss remote or Firstgreen’s mobile app.
Equipment World got a closer look at the Elise 1200 at the ARA Show earlier this year. Take a full walkaround with COO Marcus Suess in our video above.
Two power modes are available, Power or Normal, allowing operators to customize the machine’s performance for their needs while reducing energy consumption. The operator can also set four individual travel and hydraulic speeds for added precision.
Buyers can choose between a lithium-ion or lead-acid battery setup depending on their work and maintenance requirements. Specs for each battery option are as follows:
| Elise 1200 Flash Battery | Elise 1200 SILAD | |
| Nominal battery capacity | 420 Ah | 400Ah |
| Nominal battery energy | 40.3 kWh | 38.4 kWh |

The floating/dumping feature allows the machine to adjust to uneven terrain, provide better control over material handling and perform a wider range of tasks.
Enhanced cabin roof protection shields the cab from damage caused by falling objects or harsh conditions. External safety kill switches, located on the fenders and the rear of the machine, allow for immediate shutdown in the event of an emergency.
Firstgreen offers more than 60 attachments for landscaping, construction and agricultural tasks, including: 4-in-1 bucket, grapple bucket, snowblowers, tree cutter, wood splitter, concrete mixer, pallet forks, dozer v-blade, grate shovel, angle brush and more. The Elise 1200 is compatible with standard hydraulic attachments.

As far as total cost of ownership, that is much lower than any diesel equipment because we've got very little maintenance, obviously no fuel, and the ROI comes back relatively quickly and.

So a quick overview of skid steer. So this the Elise? 1200. It's got a 420 amp hour battery. We have different battery types of lithium for lead acid. It doesn't matter to us what goes in the machine. She recognizes it, and it's going to do its work. A couple of the big features, obviously sustainable, but most importantly, can be used without emissions for the health and safety of the workers around.
00:00:54:03 - 00:01:15:21
Marcus Suess
So you've got remote control ability in the machine. You can jump out of the cab, use a remote, jump back in, use the controls. Got all the user platforms and fleet software built in. So GPS compatibility to be able to track your equipment. You've got diagnostics, so something's going wrong with the machine. You can see that on your virtual garage.
00:01:15:23 - 00:01:36:14
Marcus Suess
So there's a lot of features built into that. And then standard hydraulics, which means you don't need to buy new attachments. You can use what you've got. And that's big for us. That's a partly sustainability thing but it's partly usability. We don't want you to have to buy new attachments. They last a long time. Charging wise you only need a couple of 110 outlets.
00:01:36:15 - 00:01:53:09
Marcus Suess
So you've got two one turns on different circuits. You're going to be able to charge just between anywhere. You could also use 220. And if you're using lithium there's going to be fast charging as well. So we've got a couple different units. Our highest lifting capacity is around 2,800 pounds. On the lower end we've got about 1,200 pounds.
00:01:53:12 - 00:02:10:29
Marcus Suess
So very different units. All of them come with a cab or a cabin. So you could have it where? It's just for remote control. And all three of those units are the same. So we've got a 700 at 912 hundred. And they have those different lifting capacities. Runtimes are going to be generally the same for all of them.
00:02:11:05 - 00:02:32:01
Marcus Suess
We want to run a full workday. And you can charge your batteries in shorter time than it's going to actually run. More importantly, you can hot swap the batteries in less than ten minutes. So if you need to, you can be still running as many shifts as necessary. So the cab are all electric controls. So you've got a pin you're going to put in and it's going to know who you are.
00:02:32:07 - 00:02:51:19
Marcus Suess
So it's going to know your lights. And with that you can program it to be the age pattern reverse age or ISO pattern. Doesn't matter to. It's going to know who you are. The other thing with that is you're going to have, the fleet manager will have control over what kind of power usage this machine has. So if you have a beginner, you can only give that.
00:02:51:21 - 00:03:09:27
Marcus Suess
You can give them just 10 or 20% of power usage until they're starting to learn the ropes. Stop. Bumping into things or knocking things over. And then you can give them full power access after that. So there's a lot of controllability there, as well as that software that's going to track what they're doing where they are.
00:03:09:28 - 00:03:33:27
Marcus Suess
So we do software updates pretty frequently. So we have an in-house team doing software. And we can implement changes very, very quickly because we're not as large as some of the other manufacturers. We work directly. Our CEO is very involved. And if there's an important change that needs to be made, it can be made very quickly and needs to be updated.
00:03:33:29 - 00:03:53:13
Marcus Suess
The ROI comes back relatively quickly. We have a calculator where we can calculate that. We put in how many hours a day you're intending to work. How much is fuel cost in your area? And then we can show you what the ROI is in months. That could be completely, reduced or, amended when you're talking about state or federal incentives.
00:03:53:17 - 00:04:17:10
Marcus Suess
So we work with that and we help the dealers and the end customers. You can help them by for the incentives. Well, walk them through the incentive process. So, a lot of that is there. But, even without incentives, our machines make a great investment. This equipment can do a lot of great work, but there's absolutely a place where diesel can do better work.
00:04:17:13 - 00:04:25:17
Marcus Suess
And there's a place where we will do better work. We think we need to have both options, and the project will demand what options better.
