Company executives and a fleet of Bobcat buckets recently broke ground on a $9.5 million expansion of the Bobcat/Doosan North America headquarters.
In a video from the event, Rich Goldsbury, president of Bobcat and Doosan North America, explained that the companies had simply outgrown their current headquarters, built in 2000 in West Fargo, North Dakota.
“This building was designed for roughly 100 people. We’ve got 170-some people in the building today and we’re designing it for upwards of 320 people,” he said.
The expansion of the headquarters is scheduled for completion in late summer 2016 and will double its square footage. The companies plan to bring into the facility employees currently working at different locations in the Fargo area. Despite the larger facility, Bobcat says it will maintain its presence at the North Dakota State University Technology and Research Park.
Bobcat and Doosan will pursue LEED certification in both design and construction of the facility.
But in addition to housing more employees, the companies hope the design of the building fosters innovation and improves operations.
“We plan to create an environment that helps us attract and retain talented team members focused on helping to move our company forward,” Goldsbury said in a statement. “The building will offer state-of-the art facilities for collaboration and independent working, similar to what we’ve done at the Acceleration Center in Bismarck.”
