Mastless Cat 3D Grade will debut on the Cat 150 motor grader at ConExpo.Working under the theme “Your Work Matters,” Caterpillar’s 60,000-square-foot Festival Grounds booth at ConExpo 2020 will feature more than 30 machines, including nine new products in the dozer, excavator, articulated truck and backhoe families.

New iron
New product intros at Booth F-4455 include the Cat D3 dozer, center-pivot 420XE backhoe loader, 150 AWD motor grader, 725 articulated truck and five new wheeled, small, medium and large excavators: the M318, 313 GC, 315, 325 and 395.
Here are some highlights:
Cat 420XE backhoe: Cat now offers seat-mounted controls to reduce operator fatigue. Electronic loader controls give the machine “true parallel lift,” Cat says, and a new IT quick coupler offers quick attachment change.
Cat 150 AWD motor grader: Eco mode delivers up to 10 percent greater fuel efficiency. A new mastless 3D Cat Grade control system features bolted-on GNSS receivers, reducing the potential for receiver, mast or machine damage when using the dual 3D GNSS system. Cat says 3D Grade will initially be available on its 140, 150 and 160 joystick motor graders.
Cat 725 articulated truck: New cab features include assisted hoist, Automatic Retarder Control and Advanced Automatic Traction Control. Cat says the machine has 9 percent increased speed on grades, 8 percent improved acceleration and a 7 percent productivity increase over the previous model.
Cat M318 wheeled excavator: Operator efficiency is improved by up to 45 percent with Cat Grade, E-Fence and Payload options; longer service intervals deliver up to 10 percent in lower maintenance costs.
Cat 325 excavator: Engine technology and control system improvements reduce fuel consumption by up 25 percent and extended maintenance intervals lead to up to 20 percent lower maintenance costs.
Cat 395 excavator: Cat Payload comes standard so production can be validated at the end of every shift.
Technology
Show visitors will see the first display of the enhanced Cat Command remote control offering, “an enhanced operating station with expanded capability to operate multiple pieces of equipment, equipped with the Command Vision System, from a single remote station,” Cat says. Also displayed will be a portable console designed for line-of sight use.
Command for Compaction automates the compaction process, Cat says, and “eliminates skill gaps to deliver up to 60% better coverage with consistent and precise overlap, constant speed and correct pass count.”

Cat will also host its Operator Challenge final in its exhibit on Tuesday, March 10th, immediately following the show opening. During the challenge, nine regional champions from around the world will compete in three machine challenges, with awards presented for the lowest time in each challenge.
