Nortrax Canada is the new distributor of Wirtgen Group products for Ontario, Canada, a market that Nortrax has been serving for more than 40 years as one of John Deere’s top construction dealers.

In late 2017, John Deere acquired the Wirtgen Group, headquartered in Germany, calling it the leading manufacturer worldwide of road construction equipment.

With the $5.2 billion purchase, John Deere became the first manufacturer to have crushing and screening, as well as mobile equipment, all under one company. Before the deal, Deere did not manufacture any road building equipment such as pavers and compaction equipment.

Wirtgen has five premium brands across the entire road construction sector spanning milling, processing, mixing, paving, compaction and rehabilitation.

In the immediate future, Nortrax will deploy a focused team dedicated exclusively to the sales and support of the Wirtgen Group products, according to a press release.

This group of Wirtgen Group specialists includes industry and product experts, as well as technicians and parts personnel who understand the business and the sense of urgency required to support the road and mineral technology markets.

“Everyone at Nortrax is absolutely delighted to represent and be able to offer Wirtgen products to our customers,” says Michael Rugeroni, Nortrax Canada vice president.

“Wirtgen’s superb reputation of market-leading products and their legacy of technology and innovation has helped many customers succeed in the road construction industry. We at Nortrax take pride in this opportunity and will make sure this success continues with our dedicated support teams.”

Nortrax is a John Deere company operates John Deere construction and forestry dealerships throughout the United States and Canada.
