Nortrax President and CEO Tim Murphy has decided to retire after guiding the company through many changes and transitions in an evolving industry.

Chris P. Holmes, currently vice president of product support and marketing, will fill the position beginning January 1. He’ll lead the organization as it develops Nortrax locations with the best in equipment, customer support and technology, the company says.

Nortrax operates John Deere construction and forestry dealerships throughout the United States and Canada.

“After a thorough and thoughtful succession planning process, Chris is the clear choice to lead Nortrax into the future,” Murphy says. “He is an accomplished, results-oriented and high-integrity leader with an excellent track record of improving our operational efficiency and value-added customer support.”

After graduating from the University of New Brunswick in 1985, Holmes began his career with John Deere and held roles of increasing responsibility in sales, marketing and customer support across Canada.

He was also in a leadership role at a major construction and forestry dealership in Ontario, Canada, which eventually became a part of Nortrax Canada.

Since 2014, Holmes has been Nortrax vice president of product support and marketing, leading growth and development of the marketing, customer support, and technology groups for the company.  In addition, he has been acted in supplier advisory roles throughout his career.

Murphy began his career with Nortrax in 2000 as vice president and general manager of the Midwest region in the US. In 2013, he was named to his present as president and CEO, in which he has led the Nortrax organization with a keen eye on managing the transition and change.

“I congratulate Chris on his appointment and look forward to working with him on the transition. I am highly confident that under his leadership, Nortrax will continue to move forward providing excellent customer service and support to our construction and forestry customers,” says Murphy.

“It has been an honor to lead Nortrax over the last six years. Throughout this time, I have been humbled by the commitment and hard work of our people, and their passion for truly providing the best equipment and support to customers.”

Holmes says he’s honored to build on what Murphy’s done as he leads Nortrax into the future.

“Murphy’s leadership has taken Nortrax to new heights, and I look forward to building on the momentum he established,” says Holmes. “Our industry is evolving and creating new opportunities to better support our customers through highly engaged people and technology. I look forward to our team collectively building an even better customer support business.”
