A Ford Ranger Raptor prototype was spotted recently in Michigan.
While we’re used to seeing test mules carefully shrouded in black or wrapped in bizarre checkered vinyl, this one was clearly out in the open for all to see.
Ford unveiled its first Ranger Raptor in February in Thailand. Marketed for the Asia Pacific region, the truck features an all-new 211-hp 2.0-liter twin-turbo diesel mated to Ford’s 10-speed transmission which together generate 369 lb. ft. of torque.
“We are so excited and proud to unleash this vehicle to the public, driving it really makes you feel like a hero,” Jamal Hameedi, chief engineer of Ford Performance said during the truck’s Thailand debut.
With a Michigan license plate bolted to the back of this very conspicuous Ranger Raptor, it sure looks like this mighty midsize is getting a lot closer to a U.S. launch.
