Soon after launching its new skid steers and compact track loaders with AI-voice-activated functions, Doosan Bobcat has signed a deal to collaborate with “robot brain builder” MAUM.AI to further develop autonomous technology for construction equipment.
Under the agreement between the two South Korean companies, Doosan Bobcat will provide compact construction equipment and data, while MAUM.AI will use “vision-language -action AI" to develop autonomous functions.
“This collaboration is a significant step toward expanding the real-world use of autonomous task technologies in construction equipment,” said Charlie (Hyunchul) Park, executive vice president and chief strategy officer of Doosan Bobcat. “We remain focused on advancing innovations that enhance customer productivity and operational efficiency, while leading the construction industry’s next phase of growth.”
At ConExpo 2026, Bobcat unveiled its new Pro compact track loaders and skid steers with Jobsite Companion, an in-cab, voice-activated command system as an option. The AI-powered system can perform up to 50 functions when the operator pushes a button and gives a voice command.
MAUM.AI was founded in 2014 and says it has developed “AI that enables robots and machines to perceive, decide and act on their own.”

“The range of tasks that AI can understand and perform in the construction equipment industry is expected to expand rapidly in the years ahead,” says MAUM.AI CEO Hongseop Choi. “Through VLA-based physical AI technologies, MAUM.AI will help elevate the level of autonomy in industrial equipment and remain focused on delivering AI solutions that can be applied in real-world jobsites.”
The agreement is the latest by Doosan Bobcat to develop autonomous work and unmanned products, including radar, equipment automation, perception and decision-making. Other such partnerships include U.S.-based Ainstein, a radar specialty company; Greenzie, a commercial lawnmower autonomous software company; Agtonomy, an agtech software company; and Civ Robotics, an autonomous surveying vehicle company.
