The latest addition to Kioti's push into the construction equipment market has been revealed: its first-ever mini excavators, the MX 350A, MX 350AE and MX570.

The MX series has been on the company’s list for a while, following its entry into the compact track loader and skid steer markets in 2023, says Joel Hicks, product development manager at Kioti Tractor.

Hicks leads us on a walkaround tour of the new MX350A excavator in the video above.

The MX series, according to Hicks, is ideal for construction contractors, landscapers and farmers.

Coming in at 23 horsepower and an operating weight of 8,501 pounds, the MX350A represents the smallest of the three excavators.

Standard features include an angle blade, 24-inch bucket, mechanical quick coupler, hydraulic thumb, work lights and guards for the lift cylinder and boom cylinder. Inside the cab, operators will find Bluetooth radio, air conditioning and a monitor for adjusting operational and flow controls.

Hicks emphasizes simplicity as a key selling point when contractors are deciding among brands.

For those looking for more power, Kioti’s MX 570A offers 48 horsepower and a 9,105 pounds operating weight.

Max digging height jumps to 18.7 feet, max digging depth is 11.5 feet, and operators will have 6,744 pounds of arm digging force. Hicks highlights the more premium features on the MX 570A compared to the 370s, particularly in the cab.

“The 570 has a pneumatic seat, where the other two models just have a standard suspension seat,” he says. “Everything is incorporated through the monitor, so you have a keyless start, and then all your functions like radio, Bluetooth, HVAC, everything runs through the monitor.

"You also have a nice back-lit switch pad on the righthand side that gives some quick steps to get you to places in the monitor to change your air conditioner controls and similar things.”

Up behind me, I have our new coyote MH series excavator. So a lot of people ask why we're getting into the mini excavator market. Honestly, this has been on our list for a while. We introduced the SL 750 and TL 750 compact construction loaders in 2023. So this was on our kind of on our list. At the same time, mini excavators are the next progression so that customers have that one stop shopping center where they can not only buy tractors, utility vehicles, but now they have a nice premium line of compact construction equipment as well.

It is a cab model so it has HVAC, has Bluetooth radio, also has a built in monitor. They are ISO and backhoe loader compatible. So you can make all your changes to the machine as far as your operational controls, your flow control, all that through the monitor. And then really you have a lot of machine here. That makes it a very simple package for the customers to be able to come in and say they see exactly what they're going to be able to purchase all in one, one unit, they don't have to worry about what options do they need to add to it, that they need to add a thumb.

00:01:42:18 - 00:02:02:28

Joel Hicks

Is it going to be an OEM thumb? Is it going to be aftermarket thumb, the bucket, those type of things. Everything is kind of built into the machine, which makes it very simple for the customer. Also makes it very simple for the dealer to have a package that's sitting on the lot that when the customer walks up, they don't have to look at it and say, what options do I need to add to it?

So what you'll find is, is we have two versions in the three and a half ton, the long arm and the standard arm. We also to my right we have a 570. So we jump from the 8000 509,000 pound machines up to a 13,000 pound machine. So a few more premium features on the 570. This one has a pneumatic seat where the other two models just have a standard suspension seat.

It also everything is incorporated through to monitor, so you have a keyless start and then all your functions as far as your radio, your Bluetooth, your HVAC, everything runs through the monitor. You also have a nice backlit switch pad on the right hand side. It also gives you some some quick steps to get you to places in the monitor to change your air conditioner controls that type of stuff.

All machines are outfitted with work lights. All machines have a sliding front window. Also, once you open the front glass here, the lower glass slides out very easily so you can have complete access to the front of the machine for good visibility. And then all the machines are built with maintenance in mind. So one of the nice features, when you're feeling the machines, everyone in the machines has a button right here.

00:03:19:26 - 00:03:53:15

Joel Hicks

When the machine's off, you can mash that button. It will illuminate the display to show you how much fuel is in the machine as you're filling it, and then all your checkpoints or within within easy reach. So you've got good access to your old dipstick for the engine fuel filter, your fuel ports, your air cleaners, and then when you step to the right hand side of the machine, your radiator, your coolant reservoir, washer tanks and last but not least, your large hydraulic reservoir with a with a convenient site glass.

00:03:53:16 - 00:04:21:17

Joel Hicks

So doing your daily checks is very simple. And all these machines are built with with load sensing variable piston pumps. So you get excellent flow good characteristics on the hydraulic system. As far as being smooth, you have a lot of precision through the pilot controls on the machines. And then again, you have a lot of functions and features built right into the machines directly from the factory, so that you don't have to worry about what you need to add to the machine to take it to the field and go to work.

00:04:21:17 - 00:04:47:06

Joel Hicks

So these machines are really geared towards the construction market, the landscapers, a lot of hobbyists or homeowners with acreage, people that just want to do their own maintenance around their farms, those type of things. I mean, really, these machines are very versatile in what they can do, not only from from the standpoint of the compact size, so that they're easy to get on a trailer and to move between farms, job sites, that type of stuff.

00:04:47:06 - 00:04:51:03

Joel Hicks

But really because of all the premium features on them as well.
