Huddig has rolled out the next generation of its 1370 Tigon G2 Excavator-Loader with greater battery capacity, more equipment options and a new connected platform.
The 1370 Tigon G2 platform — for both hybrid machines and hydrostatic-drive models — has been in development for several years, building on the “customer feedback, collected machine data and practical experience” gained from the first mass-produced generation, the company says.
Machine data from 41 machines that have collectively operated for 96,306 hours show that they have been powered by electricity for 57% of their operating time, saving an estimated 140,439 gallons of diesel.
“With nearly 100,000 hours of actual operation, we’ve had a very solid foundation for our development work. The larger battery makes it possible to run on electric power even more, and we therefore expect to be able to improve these figures even further with the Tigon G2,” says Daniel Åkerström, design engineer at Huddig.
Huddig has increased the battery capacity of the 1370 Tigon G2 nearly 40%, from 44 to 61 kWh. The higher capacity allows the excavator-loader to harness more of the energy recovered while driving, such as during braking and when driving downhill. The battery performs optimally within the range of approximately 20% to 80%, the company says.

The higher capacity unlocks more usable energy within this operating range, resulting in more time running on electric power, more efficient energy recovery and fewer charging cycles over time.
The 1370 Tigon G2 is compatible with a wider range of Huddig’s equipment lineup, including a loader-mounted crane (LCC), a new remote control for the machine (RC), the Lift Type II, and the LIFT 2200C, which can also be equipped with an RC and an insulated basket (LWI). This makes the machine even more flexible and suitable for a wider range of applications, Huddig says, from traditional construction projects to utility work and railway work. The top speed remains 31 mph.
“The combination of extended electric runtime and more attachment options makes the Huddig Tigon G2 even more versatile and provides greater freedom to adapt the machine to the job at hand. The electric powertrain can also provide a clear competitive advantage in jobs where low emissions and low noise levels are becoming increasingly important,” says Daniel Myrgren, marketing and sales manager at Huddig.
The excavator-loader is also compatible with Huddig Echo, the company’s fleet management system that connects owners and operators with operating data, machine status, fuel levels and a comprehensive overview of the entire machine fleet.
