Milwaukee unveils MX Fuel lineup of cordless commercial construction tools with biggest batteries in the industry

If you think of Milwaukee as a maker of small tools like drills and the Sawzall, you’d be right, but the company recently took a big leap into much bigger tools and a bigger market with its MX Fuel Equipment System.

The key to the new MX Fuel tools is a big battery system—not quite big enough to power a Prius, but larger than anything else the power tool industry has seen yet. To take advantage of the capacity of the MX Fuel system, Milwaukee created a line of high-output, heavy duty tools for the commercial construction market. Relevant to Equipment World readers are four tools: a 14-inch cut off saw, a core drill, a breaker and a tower light.

Demolish tall buildings with Kobelco’s new SK400DLC, SK550DLC excavators

Kobelco’s new SK400DLC-10 and SK550DLC-10 excavators are designed for tearing down buildings eight to nine stories high.

The crawler excavators can be configured four different ways through a joint system starting at the common base boom for three reach lengths and for digging.

For demolition of lower levels, the attached separate boom has a working height up to 48 feet for the SK550D and 45 feet for the SK400D.

Chevy unveils electric crate kit capable of 1,000 hp inside 1962 C-10 hot rod conversion (VIDEO)

While this beautiful 1962 C-10 was one of the more eye-catching resto-mod pickups on the show floor at SEMA this year, it was basically just window dressing for what Chevy is calling the eCrate, an electric crate motor concept.

Cat says the new Smart Attachments are an industry first, and with advanced machine technology, the new D3 Series skid steers and CTLs automatically recognize these smart work tools and tailor machine controls and operator information to match the attachment and the task.
