FAE debuted a new PML/RCU swinging hammer mulcher for its RCU45 remote-controlled tracked carrier, designed to shred grass, brambles, woody material and brush up to 2 inches in diameter.
The head’s hydraulic hood allows operators to adjust the final product size and outflowing material. The PML/RCU also features a self-cleaning support roller with integrated skids, a trapezoidal belt transmission, welded steel counter blades in the mulching chamber and interchangeable protection chains.
It can be equipped with standard Y/2 flails or optional PML hammers.
The RCU45 is FAE’s smallest remote-controlled vehicle, designed to manage vegetation in hard-to-reach areas or steep terrain, such as along railroad tracks, power lines, gas and oil pipelines, roadways and bodies of water. FAE’s remote-controlled tracked carrier lineup includes the RCU45, RCU55, RCU75 and RCU120.
In addition to the PML/RCU, the RCU45 can also be paired with the BL0/RCU forestry mulching head, capable of shredding branches and wood up to 4 inches in diameter. It comes equipped with a fixed-blade rotor and Bite Limiter technology that provides high output, even with less horsepower, due to the low power absorption.
