Loftness has released an updated version of its Kwik Cut brush cutter for skid steers and compact track loaders.
The new attachment is designed to withstand greater pressure when slicing and pushing through trees and brush up to 10 inches in diameter and can even grind stumps down to the ground.
The company says it gave the floating door on the cutter “an enhanced hinge design, thicker bracing and reinforced door stop.”
The floating door opens when the cutter is pushed against a tree. That exposes the blades for better cutting. The opened door can also push the tree.
Another update came to the Kwik Cut’s body and frame. Loftness says it added more steel tubing to increase the body’s strength and to stiffen the frame to prevent it twisting when facing extreme pressure.
The cutter runs on a 150cc radial piston motor that delivers Instant torque at startup.
The attachment requires 28 to 45 gallons per minute of hydraulic flow at up to 5,000 psi from the skid steer or CTL.
Standard features on the Kwik Cut include:
- 72-inch-diameter cutting disc.
- Four dual-edge beveled blades on the disc that retract on severe impact to protect them and other components. They can be sharpened and reversed for longer life.
- 18 replaceable carbide teeth on the underside of the disc for grinding stumps and brush to ground level.
- Rubber-mounted pressure gauge for monitoring the workload from the cab.
- Universal skid-steer mount.
- Bearing anti-wrap protection that prevents debris from entering the bearing chamber to minimize wrapping.
The Kwik Cut weighs 2,350 pounds. Its dimensions are 78 inches wide, 25 inches high and 92 inches long.
