Gehl V400 skid steerJust introduced to the North American market, Gehl’s new vertical-lift V400 and Mustang’s 4000V skid steers boast a rated operating capacity of 4,000 lbs. and a true vertical lift height of 144 inches. Lifting up to 144 inches, the two machines easily load high trailers and trucks.
The machines are what Mustang and Gehl call a “true vertical lift machine,” with the lift path following a vertical line as opposed to an ‘s’ shaped path offered by other vertical-lift models.
“We excited to regain the throne as the world’s largest skid loader,” says Sean Bifani, product manager. “Paired with its high lifting height, the machines enter the high-end of the skid loader market, where product options are minimal. They provide maximum capacity and the industry’s largest breakout force at 9,150 lbs.”
The machines have a 99-gross-horsepower Cummins diesel engine providing 326 ft-lbs. of torque. The hydraulic fan with swing-out cooler reduces fuel consumption and noise levels, and provides improved service access. All daily maintenance and service checks can be performed through the large rear engine hood.
High system pressure, with optional high-flow of up to 40.8 gpm is designed to handle virtually every high performance attachment, say Gehl and Mustang. Standard Hydraglide ride control allows the lift arm to “float” when transporting loads, minimizing loss of material and offering increased operator comfort.
The standard level II ROPS/FOPS cab-forward design optimizes the view to the bucket. A side-folding restraint bar with adjustable armrests increases operator safety and comfort. An optional pressurized cab enclosure with sound reduction material and a rear-mounted air filter provides a cleaner and quieter operating environment.
