Telo says its upcoming MT1 all-electric mini pickup truck touts 350 miles of range and 500-horsepower via its dual-motor AWD powertrain while fitting in the footprint of a two-door Mini Cooper.
While some might laugh at its petite stature, the EV pickup can carry 4x8 sheets of plywood with the tailgate closed and up to eight passengers. It has a 2,000-pound payload capacity and a 6,600-pound towing capacity.
Telo says it sought to make a “compact, practical and technically advanced truck” for navigating urban environments and hauling people and gear out of town.
The 60-inch truck bed extends into the back seat with a configurable mid-partition that either increases the bed size to accommodate materials or reduces it for additional seating.
A storage tunnel under the bed doubles as a footwell for a third row of seats allowing owners to seat up to eight passengers. A tonneau cover comes standard to protect gear and belongings.
The interior takes a minimalistic approach with only features necessary for practical comfort and utility, Telo says.
Integrated sensors are designed to predict and classify collisions before they happen, while airbags and structural technology add safety.
The Telo MT1 offers an estimated 350-mile range, a 106 kWh battery and a 20-minute (20-80%) fast-charging battery pack that fits within the footprint of a subcompact vehicle.
