With plenty of headlines swarming around about the F-150 SVT Lightning Tribute Truck, it was nice running into the real thing recently.
Pete and Linda Moore of Callaway, Fla. took their 2000 F-150 SVT Lightning and made some noteworthy changes.
The first thing you’ll notice is the exterior color—no, that’s not an original factory orange. Nor is that the original grill. Look closely and you’ll see the iconic V8 badge of a 1932 Ford in the center. Nice touch!
The original grey interior was given new life with orange and black seats with embossed SVT badging. A painted-to-match A.R.E. lid covers the bed.
The original 360-hp 5.4-liter V8 gets some help from a flip chip which takes it up to 425 horses. Say what you will, that’s still impressive, despite the fact that the supercharged Lightning Tribute from Pioneer Ford in Breman, Ga. squeezes out 650 horses.
Pete said the truck is his daily driver and if need be he can tow up to 5,000 lbs.
