Auger system now independent of paver line conveyor system

Ingersoll-Rand’s new line of highway-class pavers includes the track-mounted 5110 and the wheel-mounted 5160 and 5170 pavers. The auger system on these pavers is now independent of the conveyor system for optimal material flow. Reversible augers and conveyors are available as options. Each of the two auger and conveyor drives uses sonic sensors to provide precise material handling. Conveyor system chains are automatically tensioned for proper performance and lower maintenance costs. All three pavers have a screed width of 8 feet and maximum paving width of 28 feet. Hopper capacity for the series is 13.6 tons, giving each paver a practical production rate of 719 tons. A 185-horsepower Cummins Tier 2 engine powers the pavers. The pavers have a 60-gallon fuel tank and a 62.5-gallon-reservoir-capacity hydraulic system. Also new from Ingersoll-Rand: A rotating and sliding cab for the DD-158HFA compactor; the DD-112HF compactor; AirSource and AirSource Plus portable rotary-screw compressors; and the Titan 8820 paver.
