A canopy version of JCB‘s Teleskid skid-steer and compact track loaders is now available in North America, the manufacturer has announced.
Unveiled at ConExpo 2017, the compelling machine mashup outfits SSLs and CTLs with a telescoping boom. JCB says the Teleskid loaders are the only machines to combine the advantages of radial and vertical lift in a single machine.
The Teleskid lineup comes standard with a positive-pressure, climate controlled cab. JCB says the new canopy option will make the machine more appealing to rental fleets and budget-minded construction and agriculture customers.
The machine comes in two models: the 3TS-8W wheeled model and the 3TS-8T tracked version. Teleskid loaders can reach 60 percent further forward than a typical skid steer—up to 13 feet 3 inches—and they’re the only SSLs/CTLs that can dig below the chassis to a depth of 3 feet, JCB says.
A forward reach of 8 feet gives the machines the ability to reach through and over obstacles.
“Teleskid is driving demand from rental customers because it allows them to be more productive and to perform tasks that are not possible with conventional skid steer machines,” said Randy Tinley, JCB product manager for skid steer and compact track loaders. “This new canopy option provides rental operators with the machine capabilities their customers want, in a configuration that has the potential to drive down ownership costs and improve machine availability.”
At 50 percent of tipping load, the skid-steer model is rated at a capacity of 3,208 pounds with the boom retracted and 1,347 pounds with the boom extended. At 35 percent of tipping load, the CTL model capacity is rated at 3,695 pounds with the boom retracted and 1,614 pounds with the boom extended.
