At a media and dealer event in Atlanta last week, Hyundai Construction Equipment took the wraps off of its newly updated Series 9 roller lineup, consisting of four single-drum models and two compact tandem-drum models.

Hyundai says the single-drum models are designed primarily for soil and aggregate compaction with a drum available in a smooth or pad-foot surface.

A Perkins engine powered the HR70C-9 while Duetz engines power the HR110C-9, HR120C-9 and HR140C-9. The single-drum models range in horsepower from 84 to 140, have operating weights for smooth-drum configuration from 15,652 to 30,644 pounds, drum widths from 67 to 83 inches and gradeability without vibration from 45 to 60 degrees.

The compact tandem-drum models, the HR25T-9 and HR30T-9, are primarily designed for paving and feature front and rear scrapers to remove buildup from the drums, which Hyundai says are the largest in their weight class. The machines also feature 55-gallon water-spray systems with adjustable intervals.

The HR25T-9 is 5,400 pounds with a 40-inch drum while the HR30T-9 is 6,600 pounds with a 50-inch drum. Gradeability without vibration is 35 degrees and both models are powered by a 30-hp, Deutz D 2011 L2 diesel.

And here’s the full list of features on the compact models:

  • ROPS roll bar
  • Hydrostatic drive
  • Hydrostatic vibration system at both drums
  • Automatic vibration mode (double/single vibration)
  • Spring-loaded brakes on both drums
  • Manual emergency stop switch with touch sensitive switch at the seat
  • Spring-mounted driver’s compartment
  • Four headlights
  • Driver’s seat with arm rests and safety belt
  • Lockable dashboard

All 6 new rollers are covered by Hyundai’s standard three-year, 3,000-hour warranty.
