Saying the machine incorporates features found on larger units while maintaining the most compact footprint in its class, Ditch Witch has introduced its updated JT10 horizontal directional drill.
Powered by a 66-horsepower Deutz diesel engine, Ditch Witch says the new JT10 is the most powerful HDD in its class. The drill delivers 10,000 pounds of pullback force and boasts a standard 16-gallon-per-minute pump.
“Today’s operators are facing more challenging environments, especially those found on compact, urban jobsites, and the JT10 helps combat those challenges,” says Seth Matthesen, Ditch Witch senior product manager for horizontal directional drills.
The company adds that the JT10 “offers advanced power and better mudflow, allowing operators to efficiently complete larger-diameter reams on smaller jobs.”
An onboard, 40-gallon fluid tank provides additional fluid during short bores and easy onsite cleanup. The JT10 also features what Ditch Witch calls a class-leading onboard drill-pipe capacity of 324 feet.
The operator station features a traversing seat that positions the operator in the center of the pipe rack for easy-to-reach pipe handling, and a monitor that displays operational and engine diagnostics. Single joystick controls for thrust and rotation leave operators a free hand for other tasks including mudflow and jobsite communication.
