HD Hyundai Construction Equipment debuted its largest compact track loader — the HT38 — at Utility Expo 2025, where Equipment World got a walk-around tour of the new CTL, as seen in the above video.
Now available in North America, HD Hyundai touts the HT38 as having high lifting capacity and pushing power and the ability to handle a variety of attachments. It runs on a 115-gross-horsepower Hyundai D34 engine with max torque of 339 pound-feet at 1,400 rpm.
A reversible fan and PowerCore air filter manage debris and lower running temperature, while a tilt-up cooling module allows for easier cleaning of the cooling system, says Julio Vargas, product manager at HD Hyundai North America. In especially dusty conditions, operators can override the programming that controls when the reversible fan automatically runs to clean the cooling system at any time from inside the cab.
The HT38’s rear maintenance access point features a one-door, swing-out design. Hyundai also spread out the three tanks — fuel, hydraulic and DEF — within the machine to lower the chance of fluids being poured into the wrong tanks.
The HT38 has a max operating capacity of 3,807 pounds, though this can be bumped up to almost 4,000 pounds with counterweights. It can lift a 0.8-cubic-yard bucket to a pin height of 10 feet 9 inches and features a tipping load just under 11,000 pounds.

If we go to the back of the machine, we have options like a all around view camera. So this for safety purposes, you have about 270 degree view in the monitor, and you can customize the view inside the cab. We have LED lighting for our machine and then for serviceability we have full access to the machine to all the service points.

That gives you a full axis independent, hydraulic motor for your cooling system. With reversible fan, you can programmer within the monitor to run every so often. But we also have a manual override. So if you're working in heavy, dusty conditions, you can press a button and clean out your cooling package. As you can see, we have our one door swing out design that's going to give you a lot of, access to all your service point.

We also separated some of the tanks. We have our fuel tank right here, hydraulic on one side, and therefore on the other side. This is the Hyundai, 115 horsepower engine that comes with this machine. So it requires depth, but we kind of separated the tanks to, kind of avoid accidents, of putting the wrong the wrong, fuel or the wrong, liquid into a enter a different tank.

If we come over to this side, our machine is a 3,800 pound rock radar operating capacity with the optional, counterweights. We can. We have an RCA about 4,000 pounds. It's got a lot of, just shy of 11,000 pounds. If we come to the front of the machine, we do have hydraulic coupler for the machine. Eight controls in the cab and right seat now, and a heated seats for, all day operation comfort of the machine.

Our standard polycarbonate door. It's, standard for for our machines because it's got high flow of, 40 gallons for a minute or 4000, a little higher over 4000 pieces. You can run those, power hungry, attachments, like motors, coal planners. Anything that that needs to that extra power, will. So you can run it on this machine.

And you don't need to add any extra protection because we have our polycarbonate door stand there. Inside the machine, we have a very big step. So very safe to get in. Very sturdy.
