Elon Musk’s The Boring Company has delivered a tunnel boring machine to San Antonio, Texas, to dig a new tunnel for Morgan’s Inclusion Campus and its theme park, Morgan’s Wonderland.

The 900,000-pound TBM, named Prufrock-5, will bore a 0.8-mile tunnel to create a weatherproof mode of transportation for people to move more easily throughout the campus. Work is expected to begin after final permit approvals.

According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration website, work is expected to begin November 11 and wrap up next November. The project estimated cost is $1.4 million and will be paid with private funds.

The tunnel will have an outer diameter of 13.5 feet. The TDOLR lists the tunnel’s location as Morgan’s Wonderland, a campus billed as "the world’s first ultra-accessible theme park" designed to cater to special-needs children.

The park opened in 2010 and was built by Gordon V. Hartman, who sold his homebuilding business in 2005 to pursue a career in helping children and adults with special needs. The park is named after his daughter Morgan, whose physical and cognitive special needs motivated him to create a theme park where children with and without disabilities could have fun together.

The arrival of Prufrock-5 at Morgan’s Wonderland coincides with the upcoming arrival of a third TBM at The Boring Company’s Nashville Music City Loop project. The company said the first two TBMs on that Nashville project — Prufrock-MB1 and Prufrock-MB2 — are already tunneling, and Prufrock-MB3 will arrive this month. The fourth TBM is currently in production.
