John Deere has introduced a new line of grapple buckets designed for a variety of material handling applications.

The new buckets are compatible with Deere G-Series skid steers and compact track loaders, and L-Series compact wheel loaders, as well as many competitive models.

Available with rock grapples and scrap grapples, Deere Construction & Forestry program manager for global attachments, Jessica Hill, says the buckets can “move the most difficult, irregularly shaped materials with ease and speed.”

Designed for use in land clearing, jobsite cleanup and brush removal, the rock grapple buckets come in two models. The GR72B has a grapple stance of 60.6 inches. The GR84B has a 65.3-inch stance, allowing it to grapple wider material.

The rock grapple buckets have 3-inch tine spacing, allowing for smaller particles to sift through when moving forward, and full support on each side of the bucket for high bending resistance, Deere says. The rock buckets have a weld-in serrated cutting edge for penetrating difficult ground conditions.

For scrap handling, recycling center use, jobsite and disaster cleanup, the scrap grapple buckets are available in three models. The GS66B and GS72B have a 60.6-in. grapple stance, while the GS78B has a 65.3-inch stance.

The scrap grapple buckets feature pre-drilled cutting edges for optional bolt-on, replaceable edges, are also available with bolt-on side plates.

Both the rock grapple and scrap grapple buckets feature a 24.4-in.-wide grapple arm along with 90-degree hydraulic quick couplers for improved hose routing, standard cylinder guards, and increased cylinder size to a 2.5-in. bore and 1.4-in. rod.

The grapple arms on each bucket have integrated mechanical stop to reduce the load on cylinders when the arms are open.
