Cooper Equipment Rentals, based in Toronto, Canada, has acquired Modern Industrial Rentals, serving Southern Alberta.

Modern Rentals started in 1978, serving industrial and construction equipment rental clients from branches in Calgary and Medicine Hat, Alberta.

“Modern Rental’s experienced team of rental professionals, quality equipment fleet and strategically located branch facilities” gives Cooper Equipment an opportunity to strengthen its business in Western Canada, says Doug Dougherty, Cooper Equipment president.

The move follows Cooper Equipment’s acquisition of Alberta Lift in July, and “will allow Cooper to leverage its position as the premium aerial equipment supplier in Southern Alberta,” says Justin Wharton, Cooper regional manager for Southern Alberta.

Cooper Equipment, established in 1972, is a construction equipment rental company serving contractors throughout Ontario, and in parts of Quebec and Alberta. It specializes in compact equipment, aerial access and trench safety equipment and operates 30 rental locations. SeaFort Capital is a majority investor.Screen Shot 2018 01 16 At 10 17 50 Am
