The bullish news keeps coming from Kenworth, which has opened five new, relocated dealerships in the United States and Canada.
The dealerships tout more space for service, parts and sales and more convenience and comfort for drivers.
The news follows upbeat statements earlier this month from Kenworth executives in response to better-than-expected demand in the first half of 2017 for the company’s vocational trucks. One part of that growth formula has been an increase in dealerships and service bays. The company plans to grow from 382 locations to 400 by the end of the year and to continue to increase the number of service bays.
In keeping with that trend, dealers in the United States and Canada announced the following dealership relocations to new, more spacious buildings.
Worldwide Equipment, which operates 16 Kenworth dealerships spread throughout Kentucky, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia, announces four dealership relocations:
- White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia – The new parts and service dealership features 18 service bays, a driver’s lounge and 4,700 square feet dedicated to parts.
- Lowmansville, Kentucky – The new parts and service dealership features 10 service bays, a mobile service truck, a driver’s lounge, parts delivery service and 7,800 square feet dedicated to parts.
- Louisa, Kentucky – The new 22,000-square-foot, full-service dealership features 12 service bays, a driver’s lounge and 5,250 square feet for parts.
- Cross Lanes, West Virginia – The new 32,000-square-foot, full-service dealership features 17 service bays, a driver’s lounge and 7,000 square feet for parts.
Kenworth Ontario has also relocated its Ottawa area dealership to a new, larger facility.
The 43,000-square-foot dealership off Trans-Canada Highway 417 has seven drive-thru service bays, a driver’s lounge with satellite TV, and showers for drivers. It offers two-hour truck diagnosis. It has two 7.5-ton overhead cranes, dedicated express lube bays and a bay dedicated to servicing natural-gas engine trucks. The parts department includes a 4,200-square-foot display area and 8,000-square-foot parts warehouse. New trucks will be displayed in the indoor showroom.
