Volvo Construction Equipment says it has created a commercial-heavy highway crossover paver with its new P4410B tracked machine by adding a powerful engine in a compact machine platform.
“The P4410B is designed to be the most utilized paver in any fleet,” says John Mooney, product manager. “Whether the job is light highway or heavy commercial, the paver’s unique size combined with its powerful engine, front-extending screed and ease of use make this machine a utility tool for any paving contractor. Adding to its versatility is the ability to install most auto-grade and slope systems.”
The machine has a 98-inch transport width and measures 17 feet, 10 inches long, which the company says makes it transportable along with a small compactor.
In that small package is a 155-horsepower Deutz Tier 4 Final engine that is 5 percent more efficient than its predecessor. The P4410B also features the Ultimat 16 screed that extends to 16 feet. With extensions, it can provide an 18-foot paving width.
Adding to capabilities associated with its larger machines, Volvo added to the P4410B’s design 20-inch foldable walkways. It also features a 60-inch low deck and 360-degree visibility and swing console with common controls from other Volvo pavers. Also to help the operator, the P4410B offers the built-in SmokEater extraction system to collect and dispose hot mix fumes.
