The app offers real-time rail and bus arrivals and current bus locations. DDOT says it is map centric and includes a trip planner feature so users can chart a course between two destinations using multiple transit options.

“After last year’s release of the rideDC Trip Planner we received great feedback and interest from our users, and relied on that input to make the app better,” says DDOT Director Leif Dormsjo. “Reliability and integrity of data are key goals for us as we strive to provide real-time arrival information for the DC Circulator and for the first time, the DC Streetcar.”

DDOT says the application is a public service, not for-profit application and “does not sell users’ personal data, read users’ contacts or confidential information.”

The rideDC Trip Planner app is available at both iTunes and Google Play.
