Inside construction of Apple’s mostly glass Campus 2
Unlike the rest of its products, Apple is building its spaceship-like Campus 2 headquarters out in the open. The video below is a bit lengthy (though it does compress a three-hour machine rescue to just more than 17 minutes) but the process it documents is a pretty cool thing to behold. The sunken Cat D6 in peril is wedged firmly in the muck of a mining pit and has been soaking there for […]

Shots Fired: Chevy puncture tests badly gash F-150’s aluminum bed, go viral to Ford’s chagrin
In a memorable swipe at Ford, Chevrolet released two videos today showing various comparison tests that left Ford’s aluminum F-150 truck bed severely punctured and looking like “Swiss cheese”, according to one observer. Skid-Steer loaders drop approximately 825 pounds of landscaping blocks into the beds of a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2016 Ford F-150 (from left to right). Chevrolet released videos demonstrating that Silverado’s roll-formed, high-strength steel bed outperforms the impact strength of the 2016 Ford F-150’s stamped aluminum bed, as shown in new videos. For an extreme example, the videos show skid-steer loaders dropping approximately 825 pounds of landscaping blocks into the beds of both trucks. In 12 out of 12 demonstrations, the F-150 sustained visible punctures and cracks while the Silverado exhibited only surface damage.
