Person run over by paving machine in Calif.

East Contra Costa Fire Protection District officials report that one person was seriously injured after being run over by a paving machine last week at a Bethel Island jobsite in Contra Costa County, California, according to SF Gate.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene at approximately 4:45 p.m. on October 8 and were told by construction workers that the person was run over, and then the paver ran over him again when it was backed up to free him from under the machine.

Officials did not say whether the victim, who has not yet been identified, was a worker at the site. The person was flown to the hospital with possible internal injuries.
