The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is accepting public comments on division-level projects included in the state’s 10-year transportation plan until November 7.
The agency opened the plan to public participation earlier this year and reported a “record” response both online and at regional meetings. NCDOT reported more than 3,000 people visited the website or attended public meetings during the open period. Only 160 participated in 2015.
The agency now seeks public comment on the results of preliminary scoring for projects evaluated at the regional level. After this comment period and all the scores are finalized, NCDOT will publish a draft of the 2018-2027 State Transportation Improvement Program in January 2017. It would then by adopted by June 2017.
Details on the program as well as how to comment is available here. The preliminary scores for the projects are available here.
