Hammer controls prevent blank firing

Weighing more than 4 tons, the new HB 4200 hydraulic breaker from Atlas Copco turns up to 84 gallons per minute of hydraulic fluid at 2,610 psi into 530 blows per minute. The hammer comes standard with an auto-control monitoring system that adapts the power and frequency to match operating conditions and the density of the material to be broken. This reduces shock on the hammer and carrier and improves the longevity of tension bolts and retainer bars. An auto-stop system prevents damaging blank fires, and an energy recovery system increases efficiency and reduces pressure spikes. Elastic elements between the percussion mechanism and the guide system reduce noise by up to 18 decibels.
