Ingersoll Rand Cordless Impact Wrench

Ingersoll Rand’s new cordless Compact Impact Wrench is certified for use in areas where flammable gases, vapors or liquids are present.

The W5133P-C1D2 wrench delivers 550 foot-pounds of nut-busting torque and 365 foot-pounds of max reverse torque.

It is available with a 3/8-inch or half-inch square drive. It is 7 inches long and tapered at the front end for accessing tight spaces and weighs 5.5 pounds.

The company says it is the first cordless impact wrench UL-certified for Class 1, Division 2 applications. It includes these safety features:

  • A retention cage that holds the battery in place to prevent sparks.
  • A pin anvil to keep the socket from dislodging while in use.
  • A variable-speed switch and electronic brake for increased control.
  • A safety-release that prevents the drive from spinning when the trigger is released.

The wrench has four power modes:

  • Max Power – reaches 280 foot-pounds of torque.
  • Mid Power – tightens fasteners at up to 230 foot-pounds of torque.
  • Wrench Tight – tightens fasteners at 10 to 24 foot-pounds of torque; the tool automatically shuts off so bolts are not over-torqued.
  • Hand Tight – turns slowly at 2 to 9 foot-pounds of torque. When the tool reaches the point of impact, it shuts off to avoid over-torqued fasteners.

The wrench’s Chip-on-Board LED task light has four dimmable settings. The 360-degree ring of light eliminates shadows in the area that needs servicing, the company says.

According to Ingersoll Rand, the wrench also features a chemical-resistant composite housing, patented steel-reinforced frame, spark-free brushless technology and reinforced bushing.
