Even though the “situation in the Chinese market is complicated,” says Collin Davis, project group manager for show producer Messe Muchen, “…there is no doubt that bauma China remains by far the biggest and most important sector event in the Asian region.”

Bauma China says that the Chinese market will recover significantly in the coming few years, primarily because of numerous new construction products stimulating machine production, plus new Chinese emissions guidelines, which will require new systems and machines. Show producers quote Off-Highway Research’s predictions that the Chinese market will see a $17.16 billion sales volume this year, representing a slight upward trend.

Messe Muchen also cites VDMA, the German industrial association, which estimates that 20 percent of all construction equipment sold globally was bought in China. “The Chinese market is the second largest individual market after the United States, and companies wanting to gain access to the Asian region need to be present here,” says the show organizer.
