Cummins Westport ISX12G natural gas engine.Cummins and Agility Fuel Systems have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at boosting adoption of natural gas-powered trucks, the companies announced at the ACT Expo in Dallas on Tuesday.
The partnership will include technology development and integration of software and hardware between Cummins’ natural gas engines and Agility’s onboard fuel storage and delivery system.
“Our goal has always been to deliver a diesel-like experience to the end user, making natural gas-powered vehicles as easy to operate and service as diesel vehicles,” says Barry Engle, CEO of Agility.
By co-developing differentiated and improved natural gas solutions, and utilizing Cummins’ service network, Engle says the companies believe they can accelerate the adoption of natural gas as a fuel for more vehicles, including heavy duty trucks.
Agility and Cummins will also integrate sales and aftermarket support and distribution networks.

Customers will soon be able to have service performed and obtain replacement parts for their natural gas-powered equipment at authorized Cummins distributor and OEM truck dealer locations in the U.S. and Canada, the companies say.
