Harrisburg, Pa. – copper and aluminum theft guilty plea

David Lee Fetterman, 30, pleaded guilty in Perry County Court to stealing more than 1,300 pounds of copper, aluminum and other recycling materials from three counties.

Under a plea agreement, Fetterman will serve 4 to 8 years in state prison for the series of thefts that occurred in 2006 in Juniata, Perry and Cumberland counties.

In Cumberland County, Fetterman stole copper pipe from houses being built in Hampden Twp. and a hotel being built in Middlesex Twp., court records state.

In Perry County, Fetterman stole $2,000 worth of car parts from a dealer in Liverpool Twp., as well as copper tubing, plumbing fixtures, electrical equipment and oil and gas from sites in Centre Carroll and Spring townships, records state.

Records also state in Juniata County, he stole 1,500 feet of telephone cable.

Fetterman was caught by state police in August 2006 and is to be sentenced Nov. 14.
