The new models serve a wide range of applications at a maximum milling depth of 350-degrees mm/14 inches – including surface course rehabilitation and fine milling work up to complete surface removal. The 801-horsepower W 220 Fi is equipped with a two-speed Dual Shift powershift transmission, while the 1,010-horsepower W 250 Fi has an Active Dual Power dual engine drive.

A standard feature on the F Series models is Mill Assist. In the automatic mode, the system improves milling performance while reducing diesel, water and pick consumption, as well as carbon dioxide emissions. Operators also can fine tune the machine’s performance, pre-selecting milling texture from on a scale of one (course) to 10 (very fine).

Mill Assist automatically controls the two-speed Dual Shift powershift transmission and milling drum speeds can be increased or decreased. Lower speeds enable reductions in fuel costs and pick wear. Higher speeds ensure a high milling pattern quality, says Wirtgen.

The Wirtgen Performance Tracker calculates the precise surface milling performance, milling volume and consumption values for the machine. Machine performance data is displayed on the operator’s platform in real time; reports are automatically generated after the milling work.
