One of the Democrat’s key issues after November’s elections was to pass a law allowing unions to conduct non-secret ballots when organizing workers to form unions. Now it appears they won’t have the votes, much to the relief of the business community.
Union organizers wanted the bill to make it easier to create more union workplaces. But business leaders and the National Chamber of Commerce said that by eliminating secret ballots, organizers could more easily intimidate workers into voting for the union.
