Equipment World editors win top magazine award

Equipment World magazine won a Jesse H. Neal Award March 23 at American Business Media’s 52nd annual National Business Journalism Awards Banquet held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. The Neal Award is the highest honor for business-to-business magazines.

“Hot Iron,” the March 2005 special report that addressed the problem of construction equipment theft, won the award for best subject-related series of articles. Another Equipment World entry, “Dangerous Digging,” which detailed the hazards and challenges of working near buried utility lines, was also one of three finalists in the category.

Both features were team efforts by the Equipment World editorial staff and included articles written by Marcia Gruver, Tom Jackson, Jack Roberts and Olivia Grider.
