Digga Bigfoot turns mini-skid steer, skid steer, CTL into trencher

If you want to turn your skid steer, compact track loader or compact utility loader (also known as a mini skid steer) into a trencher, Skid Steer Solutions is now offering Digga Bigfoot Trencher attachments.

The trenchers, manufactured by Australia-based Digga, come in three models, with max cutting depths ranging from 3 to 4 feet. They can be used for such tasks as laying irrigation pipe and underground power and communications lines, making road repairs and for general construction.

Leica iXE3 3D excavator control gains semi-auto functionality for more operator customization

Leica Geosystems now offers semi-automatic functionality for its iXE3 3D excavator machine control solution.

The system automatically controls the boom, bucket, tilt and tiltrotator, which the company says allows for faster, more accurate digging. With the new semi-auto function, operators can select the individual automatic functions they want or any combination.

Everything Contractors Need to Know About New ANSI Aerial Lift Standards

Contractors who use telescopic-boom, articulated-boom or scissor-lift aerial platforms now face a multitude of changes in how the machines are operated and who can operate them.

That’s because new national safety standards governing aerial work platforms took effect June 1, an industry milestone that has been discussed and delayed for several years. The standards are published by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). The standards do not affect truck- or trailer-mounted booms or telehandlers. Aerial lifts built before June 1, are grandfathered in.
