International unveils the CV Series, its version of the medium-duty trucks developed with Chevy

International has debuted its CV Series truck – the Lisle, Illinois, truck maker’s refreshed re-entry to the medium-duty vocational segment.

The CV Series were developed in partnership with General Motors. Chevrolet unveiled its Classes 4, 5 and 6 versions in March at the Work Truck Show under the Silverado name. The CVs are International’s version of the truck. GM handled the trucks’ powertrain development while Navistar was in charge of the design is handling manufacturing at its Springfield, Ohio, plant. An Isuzu/General Motor’s engineered engine and Allison transmission lie at the core of these trucks.

Available in wheelbases from 141 to 243 inches, in regular and crew cab – and in 4Ă—2, 4Ă—4 configurations – the Class 4/5 CV Series gets a 6.6-liter diesel engine under its forward-tilting hood that puts out 350 horsepower and 700 lb.-ft. of torque matched to the Allison 6-speed transmission. A right-side PTO mount is available.

900-hp “Transformer” Ford Super Duty’s liftable fenders, pull-out bumper hide tons of tool storage

Designed as a blue collar dream truck, this 2019 F-250 “Transformer Work Truck” stole the show this year at Ford’s SEMA booth.

Built for Ford by DeBerti Design, this custom Super Duty “redefines what it means to be the boss,” Ford says. But “bosses” are far from the only folks that would get a kick out of this truck. It’s likely to put a smile on the face of every heavy equipment and diesel technician out there.

In Las Vegas earlier this month, SEMA 2018 show attendees hurried over to the truck with dropped jaws upon seeing its driver-side rear fender lifted high into the air by a pair of custom built supports.

Case Construction Equipment has launched a major update for its N Series backhoe loader lineup that brings several meaningful upgrades to these machines.

Leading off this 2019 model year update is a feature Case says is an industry exclusive. It’s called PowerBoost and allows the operator to get a “momentary boost of increased hydraulic power” at the push of a button on the backhoe’s left-hand joystick.

Case says PowerBoost is useful when digging in tough conditions like hard clay, rocky soil or through frost. Augmenting PowerBoost is PowerLift, which provides an increase in lifting power comparable to that of a mid-size excavator. This power increase comes at a lower engine rpm for smoother lifting and craning operations, Case says.
