Takeuchi US has named Rick MacLeish as its new national parts manager.
MacLeish will support the company’s sales efforts by establishing and maintaining business partnerships with dealers and distributors to provide parts support for Takeuchi products, the company says.
He will manage purchasing, inventory, the parts call center, order processing and parts e-commerce. Other responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, developing parts sales programs and maintaining inventory controls, Takeuchi says.
MacLeish brings nearly 30 years of experience in wholesale, distribution and customer service to the position. In his previous job with Lotus Cars USA, he was director of service and parts operations, a position he held since 2006.
“I was fortunate enough to find Takeuchi in need of a national parts manager, a position closely related to my previous roles,” MacLeish says. “The industry is different in some ways, but similar in many. He adds that his automotive experience will suit the company and its dealers well, and he believes that he can add value.
Clay Eubanks, president of Takeuchi US, notes that MacLeish has extensive experience working with dealers and distributors. “While Rick has been in the automotive industry for the duration of his career, his transition should be rather seamless with his experience,” says Eubanks.
MacLeish has a master’s degree in business administration from Southern New Hampshire University and undergraduate degrees in business management and paralegal studies.
The Takeuchi parts department stocks parts for six generations of compact equipment. Takeuchi developed the world’s first compact excavator in 1970 and in the mid 1980’s introduced the first compact track loader, the company says.
