The American Rental Association Show, originally scheduled for February in New Orleans, will now take place Oct. 18-20 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The move has also prompted ARA to cancel its 2022 show, planned for Anaheim, California. It says it is exploring options for a “focused buyer/seller showcase in 2022 to bridge the gap between shows.”

This is the second announcement this week of a major construction equipment show moving to later in the year because of the lingering impacts of the coronavirus pandemic. World of Concrete said earlier it would move from January to June, and occupy the new LVCC West Hall.

Earlier, the Associated Equipment Distributors said it would move its January annual Summit from January to Mar. 29-31 at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas.

“We consulted with our members, monitored all the leading sources of health information, and worked closely with convention center partners, the city of New Orleans, and many others in an effort to ensure a clean, safe and essential show in February,” says Tony Conant, ARA CEO.

When it became clear that the pandemic would not allow us to safely host the type of event our rental community expects, we adapted — just as our industry has throughout a resilient 2020,” Conant continues.

Housing reservations for the ARA Show will open in February and registration will open in July.
