World of Concrete, traditionally held in mid-January, will now take place June 8-10 in the Las Vegas Convention Center, show organizers have announced. Educational sessions will start on June 7th.

The move comes in response due to uncertainties caused by the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

“We have a commitment to our exhibitors and attendees to provide a valuable and productive face-to-face experience at WOC each year,” says Jackie James, group director, World of Concrete, part of Informa Markets. “This is the first time in our 46-year history we have been faced with circumstances that have caused us to reschedule the event. We feel the new June dates will provide everyone with the necessary time to plan effectively, and allows us to reimagine WOC for a different time of the year.”

James continues: “Moving the event from winter to late spring this year will allow for additional outdoor activities everyone can enjoy in the great city of Las Vegas, including top-notch exhibits, new product demos, and exciting spectator events.”

World of Concrete says it will use its parent company’s Informa AllSecure Plan to ensure safety protocols are met in the wake of COVID-19.

The show will be one of the first events to occupy the new West Hall at the convention center, which was under construction during ConExpo. The massive $980 million expansion added 1.4 million square feet to the existing 3.2 million-square-foot complex.

Registration for the June show will open online in early 2021.
