Illinois road builders’ group elects first woman president

The Illinois Road & Transportation Builders Association has elected Kathleen Holst president for 2006 and 2007. Holst is regional vice president of NES Rentals’ traffic safety division. She is the first woman president of the 67-year-old IRTBA, which represents 390 members. Holst founded ACCI, a Chicago-area traffic safety company, in 1988 after working in the industry eight years. She sold the company to NES in 1999 and now oversees 10 Midwest traffic safety branches. She was president of the American Traffic Safety Services Association from 2002 to 2004 and has been on ATSSA’s board of directors since 1992.
